Farm
Black Hill Farm is a small, regenerative market garden in Tewksbury, New Jersey, growing produce, flowers, and herbs. Our six-acre property includes a one-acre fenced production space with a greenhouse for extended-season growing. The rest of the land is being gradually developed for future projects—like a small animal program and perennial foraging gardens.
We — Jon Black and Jackie Fiske — started Black Hill Farm in late 2020 after a long seven-month closing process. We're told the property had been abandoned for over five years before we moved in. Reviving the land — and the house — became a labor of love. We spent three seasons rebuilding infrastructure, reviving the soil, and learning what could thrive here.
In 2024, we brought our first harvests to market. Looking ahead to 2025, we’re expanding: more markets and pop-ups, new products, produce and flower subscriptions, and increasing the size of our garden.
Our Philosophy
At Black Hill Farm, we’re building a space where people can eat well, gather often, and reconnect—with food, with land, and with each other.
- Provide for our Community – We believe food is medicine and are committed to nourishing our family, friends, and community. Beyond sharing our harvest, our farm serves as a gathering place to foster connections and strengthen relationships.
- Practice Sustainability – We follow regenerative methods without pesticides, and aiming for zero waste. Unsold produce is preserved, donated, or composted to feed the soil and reduce our impact.
- Learn and Innovate – We embrace curiosity and welcome learning from others. By blending our skills with new ideas, we innovate traditional practices and share our insights with others.
